Thanks for the entry in the guest book. You may have noticed that this was the first site I did and as such its not very often I update it. The other web site for 51 is at
www.beef-51.britishforces.com
That site has a lot more pics.
The pipe band was an RAF band. Two of our lads joined when we were at RAF Seletar in Singapore. The Two involved Were Ned Nedham and George Dempster. Although it was an RAF Band it was used by us on the odd big parade that we did.

Hope that is of interest to you. If you want to email me The best email address to use is
alan.baker55@yahoo.com
Anything takes your fancy on the site in the way of pictures let me know. You can take the pics straight off the site but they are usually poor quality if you do that. I will send anything that takes your fancy(no charge) but I will need your address for that.

Old friends,
What a great web site, I only came across it recently and the memories came flooding back. I joined the Squadron as a plumber and pipe fitter in 1967 on its return form Singapore and was with it until 1974 spending all that time in Workshop Troop. I served in Libya, Anguilla, Canada, Northern Ireland along with a few trips to BAOR. I retired from the Army in 2003 then continued as an RO with MoD until eventual full retirement in January this year. I am still in touch with Kev Staples (Draughtsman) and I often play golf with him, he also lives in York. An old friend of mine also from those days was Mike Sedgwick (Sedge) (surveyor) who sadly passed away two years ago in November. It would be great to hear from any old members who still remember me.
Regards to all,
John Barker
